June 2005
Walls for the workshop
June has turned into a cold month with occasional ground frost and temperatures drop to just above zero on most nights now. Daytime highs reach ten to twelve degrees Celsius.

The donga is a bit cramped, but very cozy! We have a good electric heater and a thick warm blanket. Unfortunately the walls are clad in metal on the inside and during the night little rivers of condensation start to crisscross the floor. Our outside shower is hot, but the air around it less so. Well, you take shorter showers that way and this not only conserves water but also torch-batteries.

When it's this cold you have to roll yourself up to stay warm!

The walls down here are not load bearing. We use pine for the studs and noggings.

the Hartz above the tree line. Our new camera with zoom lens let's us take "close up" shots of the mountain. It's 20 kilometres from us to the Hartz.

The early fog gives way to a beautiful sunny day. Winter in Tasmania.

A small possum visits us in the middle of a rainy night.

The full moon will soon disappear behind the morning fog.

all external workshop walls are now clad. The electrician has wired up the area. We can now fill the walls with insulation material and fit the interior cladding sheets. All we need then is the large double door, the woodstove and we are ready to move in!
